Is it okay to continuously take Histamine if I have an allergic constitution?

I am allergic to some foods and dust. In recent years, I have started to have sinus problems, runny nose and sneezing a lot, so I have to take antihistamines from time to time. How many times a year can I take them and is there a way to cure it completely? Thank you!

Through your description, it can be seen that this is a manifestation of allergic rhinitis combined with chronic sinusitis, a common condition in people with long-term allergies. Antihistamines are symptomatic drugs that can be used in short courses when the disease recurs.

The doctor has some recommendations as follows: You should not abuse antihistamines continuously. Each course should only be used for 5-10 days, and no more than 4-6 courses in 1 year, unless prescribed by a specialist.

Along with that, you should see an ENT specialist and clinical allergy immunologist to evaluate your current sinus and allergy status. You may consider a sinus CT scan if necessary to check the extent of the damage. Treatment may include: corticosteroid nasal sprays, antihistamines, saline nasal irrigation, and avoiding exposure to allergens.

In some cases, your doctor may prescribe specific immunotherapy to treat atopic dermatitis.
