Ho Chi Minh City: A teacher at Nguyen Van Troi Primary School was warned for breaking a first grader's finger, and will continue teaching as usual.

On the morning of October 18, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Thanh Tra, Principal of Nguyen Van Troi Primary School, Tan Binh District, said that the teacher's behavior caused injuries to students, with serious consequences, but because it was a first-time violation, the school's disciplinary board agreed on a warning as the disciplinary measure.

The disciplinary period is 12 months. During this time, she still participates in teaching normally.

Previously, Ms. Ha, a parent of a first-grade student at the school, reported that her child was beaten by the homeroom teacher, breaking the fourth finger joint of his right hand.

According to the mother, on the afternoon of October 4, after school, her child complained of pain and aching in his right arm because the homeroom teacher hit him with a musical instrument. The next day, she took her child to the doctor and received the above results.

On October 5, Ms. Sang was suspended from teaching. The student was transferred to another class as requested. Ms. Tra assessed this as an unforeseen occupational accident and did not confirm whether the teacher intentionally beat the student or not.
