The story was sparked when Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, and their two children unexpectedly appeared in the stands of the Sinigaglia Stadium during a friendly match against Lille, accompanied by Fabregas’ wife and son. The image of the children happily running around the field after the match further fueled the “Messi - Como” rumor.

“You should never say no. Leo used to come to my house for the summer, just to visit friends. We are close friends, our wives and children are very close. But now, he is in America,” Fabregas replied tactfully.

Messi’s contract with Inter Miami expires in December 2025, making the possibility of the Argentine superstar leaving MLS in the near future not entirely far-fetched. However, Fàbregas said he is focusing on a more realistic target: striker Alvaro Morata, who is rumored to be leaving Galatasaray for Como.
