Miss Thuy Tien's educational path: Dropped out of school, noisy degree

Regarding the case of Manufacturing fake food products that occurred at Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company and Asia Life Joint Stock Company, the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security has prosecuted Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien (27 years old, in Ho Chi Minh City) for the crime of Deceiving customers.

Previously, in December 2024, Miss Thuy Tien announced a cooperation to launch a vegetable candy brand with Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company, co-founded by Quang Linh Vlogs and Hang Du Muc.

Before being prosecuted and the "vegetable candy" scandal, Thuy Tien was considered an idol of young people after being crowned Miss Grand International 2021 in an excellent and convincing manner.

During this time, Miss Thuy Tien's education and qualifications were still considered a "mystery".

Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, representative of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University) confirmed that Thuy Tien was once a student of French language and literature at the school.

In 2016, Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien applied and was admitted to the school's French language major with a score of 21.46.

During her time studying here, Thuy Tien registered to study and pass some subjects but was absent from the exams so many subjects were not completed. In 2018, Thuy Tien completed the procedures to reserve her studies at the school but did not return to study.

While a student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Thuy Tien won the title of 1st Runner-up of Miss Southern Vietnam 2017, and also entered the top 5 of Miss Vietnam 2018 with the Beauty with a Heart award.

Also in 2018, she represented Vietnam at Miss International.

According to information from Hoa Sen University, Thuy Tien graduated from the Vatel international hotel and restaurant management program at this university.

It is known that Thuy Tien registered to study this joint program in 2019. The program is trained for 3 years in Ho Chi Minh City, taught in English with a tuition fee of 119 million VND/year (357 million VND/course).

Upon completion of the program, graduates are awarded a bachelor's degree from Vatel School of Tourism and Hospitality Business.

This program has now stopped training in Vietnam.

In mid-2022, on her official personal page, Miss Thuy Tien shared: "Tien has officially received a scholarship for a Master's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management (Executive Master of Hospitality Management) from the Swiss University of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHMS University Center). This is the largest hotel management school in Switzerland. Tien is very honored and happy to receive a confirmation letter from the school and is especially looking forward to the upcoming study program!".

Along with the post, Thuy Tien showed off a photo of her receiving a letter announcing her acceptance into the school's scholarship program.

In June 2024, Thuy Tien posted on her official personal Facebook: "Tien never thought she would study for a master's degree... And once again, I would like to inform everyone that Thuy Tien has officially completed the Executive Master of Hospitality Management program at the Swiss University of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHMS University Center)".

Amidst the noise about the beauty queen advertising Kera vegetable candy, Miss Thuy Tien's master's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at SHMS (Switzerland) continues to attract attention.

Many people doubt the authenticity of the degree, claiming that SHMS is not a formal university but a specialized training institution. And they believe that Thuy Tien's use of the word "university" could cause misunderstanding, making the public think that SHMS is a university, while in fact, SHMS's name does not contain this word.

Amidst the doubts about the above master's degree, Thuy Tien did not respond.

Miss Thuy Tien was born in 1998. During high school, she studied at Nguyen Cong Tru High School, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City. Teachers at the school assessed Thuy Tien as a friendly, gentle student with good academic performance.
