Ronaldo's son is gradually gaining attention. |
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, the eldest son of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, has just received his first call-up to the Portugal U16 team. This is an important step in his journey to follow in his father's footsteps, after the boy had impressive performances at the U14 and U15 levels.
According to the official announcement from the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), Ronaldo Jr will participate in the Torneio Taca das Federacoes (Federations Cup) in Antalya, Türkiye, from October 30 to November 4. Being promoted to the Portuguese U16 team at the age of 15 will help Ronaldo Jr get closer to the door of professional football.
In May, Ronaldo's son played for Portugal's U15s at the Vlatko Markovic International in Croatia. Cristiano Jr. scored two goals in four games, including a brace against the hosts in the final, despite his team losing 3-2.
According to European media, CR7's son is eligible to play for 5 different national teams including Portugal, USA, Spain, England and Cape Verde.
However, Cristiano Jr. decided to follow the same path as his father by dedicating himself to the Portuguese youth team. Cristiano Jr. is training and playing at the academy of Al Nassr, the club his father played for in the Saudi Pro League.
Impressive performances for the youth team helped Ronaldo's son catch the eye of Portuguese scouts and he was called up to the U16 team.
