One of the names mentioned is former football legend and former coach of the Thai national team (from 2013 to 2017), Kiatisuk Senamuang.

The Thai newspaper Khaosod wrote: “Coach Zico Kiatisuk is currently the Director of the Liverpool Football Academy in Thailand. He previously led the Thai national team to two AFF Cup victories (2014 and 2016), a King's Cup win, and participation in the Asian Cup finals.”
“Other strong candidates besides Coach Kiatisuk are Anthony Hudson and Sasom Pobprasert. Anthony Hudson (an Englishman) is the Technical Director of the FAT (Football Association of Thailand), while Sasom Pobprasert is the coach of PT Prachuap FC in the Thai League,” Khaosod added.
Among them, coach Kiatisuk is the most influential figure in Thai football. Thai fans are eager to see "Thai Zico" return to coach their national team.

In fact, before Japanese coach Masatada Ishii took over the Thai national team in 2023, FAT President Madam Pang had wanted Kiatisuk to take the position.
However, at that time, coach Kiatisuk was still under contract with V-League clubs, so he couldn't immediately agree to hire Madam Pang in 2023.
Furthermore, Kiatisuk's current job as Director of the Liverpool Football Academy in Thailand is only part-time. "Thai Zico" could take over as head coach of the Thai national team at any time.
In early 2017, coach Kiatisuk Senamuang parted ways with the Thai national team due to disagreements with former FAT President Simyot Poompunmuang. Currently, however, there are virtually no major obstacles preventing Kiatisuk from taking over as head coach of the Thai national team.
