Despite U22 Malaysia's resounding victory over U22 Laos and securing first place in Group B, the U22 Vietnam team remains confident facing the "Malayan Tigers," aiming for a win to secure a place in the semi-finals. Vietnam U22 defeated Malaysia U22, proudly advancing to the semi-finals of the SEA Games 33.

From the moment the referee blew the opening whistle, the U22 Vietnam players surged forward in attack, creating numerous dangerous moments in front of the opponent's goal. In the 11th minute, Coach Kim Sang Sik's team scored the opening goal after a beautifully executed attack.

Dinh Bac crossed the ball from the left towards the far post, and center-back Hieu Minh held off his defender well and headed the ball diagonally into the net, leaving the U22 Malaysia goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

The early goal boosted the morale of the Vietnam U22 players, and they quickly doubled their lead in the 22nd minute. Dinh Bac continued to shine with a breakthrough on the left side of the midfield, penetrating the penalty area before passing the ball back to Minh Phuc, who finished into an empty net. The 2-0 score remained until the end of the first half.

In the second half, the U22 Malaysia players were still unable to push forward and score a goal to reduce the deficit, as U22 Vietnam maintained good ball control in midfield and forced their opponents to focus on defense.

However, no further goals were scored during the second half, and coach Kim Sang Sik and his team can be completely satisfied with the 2-0 victory, securing their place in the semi-finals.

Many Southeast Asian fans have praised the performance of the Vietnamese U22 players, especially Indonesian fans, as this victory gives the Indonesian team a chance to qualify for the semi-finals if they defeat Myanmar U22 in the final match as the best-performing second-placed team.
