A 10th-grade female student was hospitalized after being beaten by a classmate.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The police in Quang Phu ward, Thanh Hoa province, have launched an investigation into the case of a 10th-grade female student who was beaten by a classmate and hospitalized.

On the evening of December 11th, Mr. Luong Van Sinh, Principal of Thanh Hoa Vocational School of Commerce and Tourism , stated that the Quang Phu Ward Police had launched an investigation into the incident where a 10th-grade female student from the school was assaulted by several classmates right in the classroom.

According to Mr. Sinh, on the evening of December 9th, the school received a complaint along with a video clip about NTYN (born in 2010, a student in class 10A1) being beaten by two classmates, Tam and Linh.

“YN and Tam were classmates and had a conflict since middle school. When they entered the school, they continued to be in the same class. After school in the afternoon, the two had a disagreement, leading to the incident,” Mr. Sinh said.

He also added that after the video of YN being beaten went viral on social media, the school contacted the family and learned that the female student had been taken to the hospital for treatment.

Two days have passed, and the student is still showing signs of panic and does not want to interact with outsiders. The school has reported the matter to the Quang Phu Ward Police to investigate the cause.

“The police have summoned the students involved, including Tam and Linh, classmates who participated in the assault on YN. The two families have also met and discussed the matter. The students who assaulted YN have come to the hospital to apologize, and their families have promised to cover all medical expenses,” Mr. Sinh informed.

According to the principal, after the incident was verified, the school's management board held a meeting and decided to suspend the two female students who assaulted YN for one week, and also required them to write a self-criticism report.

"The school was extremely surprised. We have always collaborated with the police to educate students. This incident is very regrettable," Mr. Sinh shared.
