At noon on December 11th, a press conference was held in Bangkok ahead of the opening match in Group B of the women's futsal tournament at the 33rd SEA Games.
The Vietnamese women's futsal team will play their opening match against Indonesia at 1:30 PM tomorrow (December 12th) before facing Myanmar in the final group stage match on December 14th.
At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's futsal team did not have its strongest squad as captain Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang was absent due to injury. This was a regrettable loss, as she was a key player in the team's style of play and played a crucial role in boosting the team's morale.
However, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said that the coaching staff had already developed plans during the preparation process to compensate for this absence.
He shared: "We remain highly determined. The coaching staff believes that the players will perform well and fulfill their mission at this Games."
In preparation for the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's futsal team held a training camp in China. There, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team drew 2-2 with the Chinese women's futsal team in the first leg before winning 2-1 in the second leg.
These two matches are considered high-quality practice games, helping the coaching staff assess the effectiveness of the domestic preparation process as well as test optimal personnel and lineup options.
The opening match against Indonesia is expected to be challenging, given the opponent's fast-paced and powerful playing style. However, the Vietnamese women's futsal team aims for a favorable result to build momentum for their journey at the SEA Games 33.
