According to the announcement of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan , the national treasure is a golden Linga , discovered in 2013 during the restoration of Po Dam Cham tower, in Phu Lac commune, Tuy Phong district (Binh Thuan).
On January 18, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 73/QD-TTg recognizing 29 national treasures (batch 12), including the gold Linga.
Also according to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan, the national treasure Golden Linga dates back to the 8th-9th century, is a unique, rare original artifact with a unique form; has historical, cultural and aesthetic value; symbolizes the growth of all things and species, is specially crafted, weighs 78.36 grams, with the dragon gold ratio accounting for 90.4% and the remaining 9.6% including silver and copper.
The golden Linga found at Po Dam tower, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan was recognized as a national treasure by the Prime Minister.
The golden metal Linga artifact at Po Dam relic was discovered in the strata during the archaeological excavation process, containing important scientific information, of great value for research and awareness of cultural and historical issues related to Po Dam relic in particular and Cham culture in general.
The national treasure Golden Linga is an important scientific document, not only for archaeology, but also of great value for research on history, culture, fine arts, religion, metallurgy, and goldsmithing of the Cham community in the past.
Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Doan Anh Dung presented flowers and gifts to congratulate Cham people on the occasion of Kate festival and received the Prime Minister's decision to recognize the national treasure.
Right after the announcement of the national treasure is the traditional Kate festival of the Cham people following Brahmanism. The Kate festival of the Cham people was restored next to Po Sah Inư tower (20th time, in Phu Hai ward, Phan Thiet city); this festival not only has a strong traditional cultural identity, but also attracts a large number of domestic and international tourists to learn and visit; contributing to the development of Binh Thuan tourism industry.
