According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Northern region qualifying round started on October 3, gathering 16 participating teams, including: Bac Ninh 1 Trade Union, Vietnam Education Trade Union, Ninh Binh Trade Union, Hai Phong City Trade Union, Dien Bien Trade Union, Hung Yen Trade Union, Hanoi City Trade Union, Bac Ninh 2 Trade Union, Phu Tho Trade Union, Vietnam Health Trade Union, People's Public Security Trade Union (CAND), Vietnam Bank Trade Union, Vietnam Industry and Trade Trade Union, State Bank, VPBank, Agribank .
The 16 teams are divided into 4 groups, playing a round robin to determine the 4 group winners and 4 group runners-up to advance to the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals are organized in a knockout format. The four teams that qualify for the semi-finals will simultaneously receive tickets to the national finals. Meanwhile, the 4 teams that stop in the quarter-finals will continue to compete in the play-off to select the remaining 2 tickets to the finals.
After the final match, the Organizing Committee awarded the Northern regional qualifying round prizes up to 170 million VND. Of which, the CAND Trade Union team, the regional qualifying round champion, received 60 million VND, the Vietnam Bank Trade Union was awarded second place and received 40 million VND, the Bac Ninh 1 Trade Union team and the Hai Phong Trade Union team tied for third place, each receiving 20 million VND.
