(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - Thanks to the strength of available raw materials, in recent times, many localities in the province have focused on industrial development, gradually shifting the economic structure, and increasing budget revenue.
Promote strengths
Over the past 10 years, Son Tay mountainous district has always been on the list of localities that have completed the budget collection work well. In which, the year with the lowest revenue was 50 billion VND, and the year with the highest revenue was 280 billion VND. This revenue is thanks to the fact that in Son Tay district, there are 6 hydropower plants that have been put into commercial operation, generating revenue and contributing to the local budget. In which, the hydropower plant that contributes the largest budget revenue is Dakdrinh Hydropower Plant, with the budget contribution in the past 10 years being about 1,000 billion VND, in 2023 alone about 150 billion VND. According to the leaders of Son Tay district, thanks to the mountainous terrain and river and stream systems, it creates advantages in attracting hydropower projects. Hydropower projects put into operation not only contribute to ensuring national energy security but also increase local budget revenue and create jobs. Along with that, many hydroelectric plants also contribute to supplying water during the dry season and reducing floods during the rainy season for downstream areas.

Ba To and Son Ha districts are also two localities implementing many hydropower projects. The government is actively coordinating with investors in construction to ensure the project progress and quality as committed. In addition to attracting hydropower projects, these two localities also focus on attracting wood chip processing factories for export.
Keep up with development
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, Mo Duc is one of the leading districts in the province in local industrial development. There are currently 4 industrial clusters (ICs) in the district, including Quan Lat, Thach Tru, Mo Duc town and An Son, with a total area of nearly 140 hectares. Of these, 16 projects have come into operation, contributing to increasing the value of industrial production, creating stable jobs for nearly 800 workers. Among these, many enterprises have invested in modern machinery and equipment, producing quality products at reasonable prices, trusted by consumers in the province. In early 2024, Mo Duc attracted the An Son Industrial Park infrastructure investment project from non-budgetary capital sources. On January 22, 2024, the investor, ESG E&C Joint Stock Company, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of An Son Industrial Park technical infrastructure in Duc Lan commune. An Son Industrial Park has a scale of more than 50 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 265 billion VND. This is the first industrial park infrastructure investment project in the province invested in, constructed, and managed by an enterprise. Currently, the Provincial People's Committee has leased land for the first phase to the investor, with more than 11 hectares to implement the project. Chairman of Mo Duc District People's Committee Pham Ngoc Lan said that the district is currently actively attracting investment projects suitable to the district's potential strengths, to promote local industrial growth. Priority is given to attracting projects in the agricultural and forestry processing industry that are environmentally friendly, thereby increasing the value of agricultural products and helping farmers improve their lives.
