Within the framework of Techfest Haiphong 2025, on the afternoon of October 10, the city's Department of Science and Technology held a conference to introduce Halal standards (for Muslim customers and consumers).
At the conference, the Director of the National Halal Certification Center introduced and updated the latest information on a number of Halal standards, Halal certification processes and advantages for Halal-certified products.
In particular, it emphasizes three practical and potential fields for Hai Phong city today: cuisine , logistics services and Muslim-friendly tourism.

Representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, experts and businesses in the fields of logistics, hotels and food shared the potential of the Halal industry in the world.
Accordingly, the global Halal economy is currently over 7,000 billion USD and will increase to over 10,000 billion USD by 2030. It is forecasted that by 2030, the world will have over 230 million Muslim visitors each year, accounting for nearly 30% of global tourists with total tourism spending of over 300 billion USD/year.
To exploit the great potential of the Halal market, Hai Phong city needs to take advantage of its strengths in tourism, diverse transportation system and scenic spots to attract tourists from Muslim countries.
It is necessary to develop Halal restaurant and hotel services and build specific Halal tourism products for Muslim guests. Strengthen the promotion and expansion of the international Halal market through fairs, exhibitions, international airlines, etc.

In addition, the potential for Halal development in the fields of logistics, tourism and food is also very large. The modern industrial infrastructure system with industrial parks, cold storage chains, container ports, and logistics areas needs to be utilized by Hai Phong to develop a concentrated industrial park for Halal products (Halal Industrial Cluster).
The system of international seaports and airports also helps Hai Phong become an ideal export gateway for Halal products to Malaysia, Indonesia, the Middle East, the EU, etc.
According to conference delegates, to take advantage of this, Hai Phong enterprises need to ensure the quality of products and services provided according to Halal standards through achieving certification recognized by target markets.
Strengthening links with localities with large Halal markets to learn from experience; seeking import partners from large Halal countries to act as product distribution channels; cooperating with domestic enterprises to share certification fees, training, promotion, etc.
