The award ceremony took place on April 25 at the Mariel Special Economic Zone in the presence of Ms. Isdalys Rodríguez Rodríguez - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, representative of the Cuban Light Industry Group (GEMPIL), and local leaders.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Yaquelín Baños Torres, Secretary General of SNTI, emphasized: "This title is a testament to the strong friendship between the two countries".
Despite suffering heavy damage from Hurricane Rafael in 2023, Suchel TBV still achieved impressive growth: revenue increased by 13.8 million USD, and production of detergent and cleaning liquid reached 8,200 tons more. Meanwhile, Thai Binh Global - the first unit in Cuba to produce disposable diapers, sanitary napkins (since 2019) and wet wipes (since 2021) - actively supports social programs in the four provinces of Artemisa, Pinar del Río, Matanzas and Guantánamo.
In addition to the two Vietnamese units mentioned above, five other enterprises in the Mariel Special Economic Zone were also honored to receive the title of "Pioneer Unit".
