The Department of Cinema announced the selection of films for the 98th Oscars.

The Department of Cinema has just announced an invitation for individuals and film production companies to submit works to participate in the national selection round to choose a film to represent Vietnam in competing at the 98th Academy Awards, scheduled to be held in Los Angeles (USA) in 2026.

Films entering the competition will be submitted to the category "International Feature Film".

The Department of Cinema requests units and individuals to submit their documents before September 20, 2025, including: Registration letter sent to the Department of Cinema; Registration form filled out with full information; Copy of film distribution license; and Film link.

Entries must meet the requirements in Section 16 of the 98th Academy Awards Rules, which are available on the official website at https://www.oscars.org/oscars/rules-eligibility.

The National Film Selection Council, established by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will review and vote to select the work representing Vietnam at the Oscars.

The selected film will be the official representative to attend the preliminary round of AMPAS (Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences).
