Mr. Giang A Tru was moved: Before, my family lived in an area with a high risk of landslides, so we were not assured of our daily life and production. Thanks to the investment attention of the State and the Ministry of National Defense, the Mong people in Ta Han Resettlement Area have had a more stable life. In the coming time, the commune will continue to take advantage of resources from national target programs to support the development of breeding buffaloes, goats and sustainable livelihood models, helping people increase their income and stabilize their lives in the long term, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Nam Cuong Commune People's Committee, emphasized.
More livelihoods for sustainable poverty reduction
State support programs help ethnic minority households have livelihoods and stabilize their lives. |
In addition to investment and support for housing and infrastructure, over the past time, the State's investment projects and programs have also directly supported livelihoods, helping people find jobs and increase their income, aiming at the goal of sustainable poverty reduction. Ethnic minority people have been given favorable conditions to borrow capital to develop their household economy, participate in training on cultivation and livestock techniques, and receive support for seedlings and livestock... Thereby, contributing to increasing income, improving life, and promoting sustainable socio-economic development in the locality.
In Vinh Thong commune, the project to support the development of breeding buffalo production according to the value chain, under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, has been implemented synchronously and effectively. From 2024 to now, the commune has distributed 68 buffaloes in 2 cycles to 68 households. It is expected that the 3rd cycle will continue to be implemented in September 2025 with 33 more buffaloes for poor and near-poor households.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi, Chairman of Vinh Thong Commune People's Committee, said: The project to support breeding buffaloes has brought about remarkable results, helping many households to have more livelihoods and gradually increase their income. In the coming time, the commune will continue to coordinate with all levels and sectors to implement the next cycles, aiming to expand the model and improve the lives of the people.
In addition to implementing many other national target projects and programs, the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, 2021-2030, is considered an important highlight, focusing on directly supporting the basic and long-term needs of the people. Through the component projects, it has contributed to creating comprehensive changes, helping people gradually escape poverty.
In reality, the State's investment programs and projects have brought about significant changes in the lives of people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. The appearance of rural mountainous areas is increasingly prosperous, the material and spiritual life of the people is improved, and trust in the Party and State's policies and guidelines is increasingly strengthened.
