Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction (NRC), all levels of Veterans Associations in the province have proactively and creatively implemented many unique and effective methods, contributing with the locality to gradually complete the NTM, advanced NTM, and model NTM criteria.

Veterans join hands to build new countryside Traffic roads in Thieu Long commune (Thieu Hoa) were expanded thanks to the active participation of cadres and veteran members.

With the goal of each association having at least one project or part of work undertaken by war veterans, and each war veteran member having practical work in building the new rural area, the War Veterans Association of Thieu Hoa district has registered with the local Party Committee and government to implement two key criteria: security and order and environmental sanitation. Accordingly, the War Veterans Association of communes and towns in the district has established self-managed war veteran groups, security and order groups, social security groups, and traffic safety groups with nearly 1,400 war veteran members participating. During the implementation process, cadres and war veteran members have successfully mediated 82 conflicts among the people, helped 16 law violators reintegrate into the community, coordinated in arresting many law violators, provided many important sources of information to the police, contributing to maintaining security and order in the locality. Implementing criterion No. 17 on the environment, the associations at all levels have taken charge of 135 sections of roads for self-managed war veterans in environmental sanitation; established 8 environmental sanitation clubs in communes and towns and 17 environmental sanitation clubs in village and sub-region associations with 712 members participating, periodically collecting and disposing of waste in the right places. Currently, more than 70% of the association bases in the district participate in environmental sanitation work in the fields and 8 communes participate in environmental protection work on the Bac canal. The associations also plant and take care of thousands of trees on roads and public places, creating a unique mark of the war veterans association in social life. Along with that, the war veterans association at all levels in the district actively mobilizes members to participate in economic development, improve living standards, and contribute more to the movement to build new rural areas in the locality. In the past 5 years, the Veterans Association of Thieu Hoa district has contributed over 51 billion VND, more than 6,000 working days, donated more than 1,240 m2 of land, demolished more than 6,000 m of fence to expand roads, and donated materials worth more than 2.5 billion VND... The positive contributions of the Veterans Association at all levels in the district have contributed to bringing Thieu Hoa district to meet the new rural standards in 2022.

Implementing the movement to build new rural areas, the Association of War Veterans in Dong Son district was assigned to implement two criteria: rural traffic and security and order. The most difficult thing in Dong Son is that the communes have completed the new rural areas, people have donated land to build roads and invested funds to rebuild gates and fences, but now they have to continue to demolish them to donate land to build advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas, so many people do not agree. All propaganda and mobilization efforts from members to families of war veterans are carried out by the association at all levels according to the motto "Slow and steady wins the race". In addition to propaganda, for families who work far away, after agreeing to donate land, many branches of the Association of War Veterans in the communes have mobilized members to contribute working days to demolish and rebuild the "Model fence". With the efforts of cadres and members of the Association of War Veterans, the association at all levels in the area has mobilized families of war veterans and people to donate land to expand and upgrade 164.2 km of rural roads; donated 117,702 m2 of land; contributed 65,056 working days to build roads; built more than 109.97 km of "Model fences". Regarding the security and order criteria, the Association of War Veterans has coordinated with the police at all levels to implement the coordination program "The Association of War Veterans participates in preventing and combating crimes, social evils, maintaining security and order in the area"; "Receiving management, education , and reformation of offenders in the community". As a result, over the past 5 years, the Association of War Veterans at all levels has provided 112 important pieces of information for the authorities to handle; coordinated with the local police to patrol, guard, and maintain security and order to ensure holidays, Tet, and important local events. Received management, education, and reformation of 172 offenders in the locality and successfully reformed 89 of them.

Implementing the movement "War veterans join hands to build new rural areas", the provincial War Veterans Association has signed a program to coordinate the construction of new rural areas with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Office of the Provincial New Rural Area Construction Program Coordination. Local War Veterans Associations "take on a task" assigned by the Party Committee, or register with the local government to implement a specific new rural area criterion. In the period of 2017-2022, War Veterans Associations at all levels in the province organized 3,197 propaganda sessions, mobilizing war veterans to participate in building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas; mobilizing members to donate 894,385 m2 of land, demolish 12,300 m of fences to build welfare works; participating in concreting 3,360 km of rural roads; digging, dredging 3,010 km of canals, and irrigation works within the fields; General cleaning was carried out more than 3,000 times with 611,307 participants; 9,213 waste bins were built in the fields and 13,148 incinerators in community living areas; 470,000 trees were planted and cared for. At the commune level, 205 war veterans' clubs for environmental protection were also established with 1,960 members; more than 10 billion VND and tens of thousands of working days were contributed to building cultural houses and sports areas; legal bookcases were established, and flagpoles were built in cultural houses...

With practical and meaningful actions, the War Veterans Association at all levels in the province has actively contributed to the local Party Committee and government in building the new rural area. Promoting the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the War Veterans Association at all levels in the province continues to select and undertake specific tasks suitable to each locality, creating a spreading effect so that everyone and every household can join hands and unite to build an increasingly prosperous and beautiful homeland.
