Da Nang: Contributing ideas to complete the Project on Digital Transformation, Innovation, Science and Technology

On November 21, the People's Committee of Da Nang City organized a workshop to collect comments from delegates and experts on the draft Project on Digital Transformation, Innovation, Science and Technology Development for the period 2026-2030.

The workshop contributed ideas to the Projects for completion, promulgation and implementation in a feasible and effective manner.

The Master Plan for Digital Transformation of the City for the period 2026-2030 is a strategic plan to shape the city's digital future, deeply integrating the contents of building a Smart City.

The digital transformation of Da Nang city has brought about encouraging achievements in all three pillars: Digital Government - Digital Economy - Digital Society. The results of the assessment of the quality of public administrative services in Da Nang city have been improved and enhanced year by year, reaching nearly 100%.

By 2024, the digital economy will account for 24% of the city's GRDP; exceeding the target set for 2025 (20%). The digital technology workforce is about 50,000 people, the workforce directly creating software and digital content products accounts for 45% of the city's total digital technology workforce.

The project sets specific targets for 2030: 100% of administrative procedures are eligible for full-process online public services; 100% of administrative procedures are proactively deployed, "contactless"; 100% of agencies reach level 4 and 90% reach level 5 in data governance.

Digital economy accounts for 35-40% of the city's GRDP; 90% of the adult population has access to digital services in healthcare, education , smart transportation, etc. The total estimated budget allocated for the programs and tasks of the Project is 22,470 billion VND.

Delegates present the contents of the Projects.

The project “Da Nang - City of Innovation” aims to strive to be in the top 300 global innovation startup ecosystems by 2030; in the top 5 localities in terms of PII index; support the development of at least 600 innovative startup projects and businesses; have at least 1 technology unicorn valued at 1 billion USD. Investment capital in innovative startups and innovative startup projects in Da Nang will increase by about 6 to 7,000 billion VND compared to 2025.

In addition, for the Science and Technology Development Project, the budget for implementing tasks in the 2026-2030 period is expected to be more than 586 billion VND.

At the workshop, delegates contributed ideas and suggested many contents and recommendations on: The need to develop a project in sync with central programs and projects; a data-based governance model, enhancing connection, sharing, and interconnection of digital data throughout the political system; orientation for the development of digital infrastructure, data centers, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), open data, urban digital copies (Digital Twin); proposals to enhance information security, network security, digital human resource training, international cooperation, regional cooperation, etc.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Ho Quang Buu emphasized: The city is committed to implementing digital transformation and innovation with the spirit of: Breakthrough thinking - Resolute action - Substantive implementation - Sustainable efficiency.
