Toyota Veloz hybrid is about to go on sale in Indonesia, waiting to come to Vietnam

Toyota has officially confirmed the launch of the hybrid version of the Veloz MPV line in Southeast Asia, specifically in Indonesia, with a price of only about 471 million VND.

According to information from some dealers, Toyota Veloz hybrid will be distributed in four versions, with an expected starting price of 299 million Rupiah (about 471 million VND). If this price is real, this will be Toyota's cheapest hybrid model in Indonesia.

Many rumors say that the Veloz hybrid will be equipped with a 1.5L gasoline engine combined with an electric motor and a CVT gearbox. This is a familiar configuration on Toyota's new generation hybrid models.

Additionally, insider information also mentions the possibility of a sporty Modellista version. Toyota has not confirmed whether the overall appearance of the Veloz will be refreshed when switching to a hybrid configuration.

Along with expanding its product portfolio, Toyota Indonesia is also rushing to complete the battery assembly line to serve the new hybrid models. As of August 2025, hybrid vehicles accounted for 56% of Toyota sales in Indonesia – showing the strong consumption of this segment.

Toyota has not confirmed whether the Veloz's overall appearance will be refreshed when it switches to a hybrid configuration.

In Vietnam, the Toyota Veloz Cross is still imported completely from Indonesia and there is no hybrid version. However, Toyota Vietnam is continuously increasing the number of hybrid products, from Corolla Cross to Camry, Corolla Altis and Yaris Cross. The appearance of Veloz Hybrid in Indonesia is expected to be a premise for this model to soon arrive in the Vietnamese market.
