On the afternoon of November 23, the closing ceremony of the Vietnam - Laos Trade Connection and Product Promotion Fair 2025 was held at the Lao International Exhibition and Convention Center (Lao Itecc) in the capital Vientiane.
Attending the program were Major General Khamven Labuamahaxay, Deputy Chief of Office of the Lao Ministry of National Defense ; Colonel Phan Duong Minh, Deputy Chief of Staff of the General Department of Defense Industry; Comrade Chattouphonh Nakhavith, Deputy Director of the Foreign Trade Department, Lao Ministry of Industry and Trade; representatives of agencies, units and enterprises of Vietnam and Laos.
Reporting on the results of the fair, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Nguyen, Director of the Military Trade Promotion and Exhibition Center, General Staff, General Department of Defense Industry, said: The fair is part of the National Trade Promotion Program, held from November 20 to November 23, under the direction of the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Laos and related ministries and branches.
This fair takes place on the occasion of the Lao Party, State and people preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao PDR (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025). With rich and diverse contents, the fair has brought about positive effects and results, attracting a large number of agencies, units, businesses and people of the two countries to participate. After 4 days of organization, the fair attracted nearly 8,000 visitors to visit, shop and connect with trade.
This year's fair gathered hundreds of businesses from both countries displaying and introducing over 1,000 products with 144 booths in the following industries: Food - beverage, garment, mechanical products, finance - banking, telecommunications, technology, logistics... Among the participating businesses, there are 26 military businesses with 50 booths.
The highlight of the fair is the exhibition area introducing images of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; the image of the Vietnam People's Army in building and developing the economy combined with national defense and defense diplomacy; images of defense industry products and services, dual-use economy of enterprises of the General Department of Defense Industry and the exhibition space introducing Vietnamese culture.
Within the framework of the event, the Organizing Committee has implemented 20 direct and online trade connections. Through that, the Bac Ninh Industrial Production Association signed a cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Business Association in Laos; Robot Investment Joint Stock Company signed a product distribution contract with a Lao enterprise worth 500 million VND.
Within the framework of the fair, the Workshop on “Investment and trade cooperation between enterprises of Vietnam and Laos” was also held, organized by the Department of Finance, Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam in coordination with the Department of Economics, Ministry of National Defense of Laos, attracting the participation of more than 50 units and enterprises of Vietnam and Laos.
During the 4 days of the fair, the Organizing Committee and businesses gave more than 2,000 gifts to fair visitors.
At the closing ceremony of the fair, 20 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing and participating in the Fair connecting trade and promoting products of Vietnamese - Lao enterprises in 2025 were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Minister of National Defense of Vietnam.
