Da Nang and Hue give students 2 days off to avoid storm No. 12 Fengshen

The Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City has requested the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones; schools, affiliated centers; vocational training institutions and universities in the area to allow preschool children, students, and trainees to take a day off from this afternoon (October 22) until the end of tomorrow (October 23).

For boarding schools, the Department recommends arranging time for students to leave early, notifying parents to pick up their children after lunch; at the same time, assigning teachers and staff to be on duty and take care of students while waiting for parents to pick them up.

Boarding and semi-boarding schools are required to strengthen management and absolutely not let students go home without ensuring safety conditions.

Vocational training institutions and private universities are allowed to proactively decide on students' studies based on actual situations.

The Department of Education and Training of Hue City also announced that all students in the area will be off from school from the afternoon of October 22 and October 23. At the same time, it requested schools to proactively monitor warnings and forecasts of storm No. 12; strictly implement the "4 on-site" motto, ensuring absolute safety for students, teachers and schools.

The Department also directed the review, inspection and consolidation of facilities, especially in remote schools, areas at high risk of landslides or flooding; and the relocation of equipment, records and assets to safe places to minimize damage.

The education sector of the two localities requested units to maintain on-duty forces, regularly update weather conditions, coordinate with authorities and functional agencies to proactively respond; at the same time, urgently clean up and sanitize schools after the storm, creating conditions for students to return to school soon.
