Da Nang strengthens management of tourism environment, ensuring security and safety for tourists

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued Directive No. 08/CT-UBND on promoting tourism environment management, ensuring security and safety for tourists in the city.

According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, in recent years, the city's tourism has grown strongly, making an important contribution to the socio -economic development. Promotion, advertising and stimulus activities have been implemented systematically, contributing to enhancing the image of the destination and attracting a large number of visitors. In the context of expanding administrative boundaries, increasing population size and management scope, the city requires functional agencies to coordinate synchronously, avoid overlap, create a friendly, safe and responsible tourism environment, contributing to building tourism into a spearhead economic sector.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with relevant sectors to strengthen inspection, supervision and strictly handle violations to improve service quality and ensure safety for tourists. Continue to deploy the Green Tourism Criteria and the "Da Nang Smile" Cultural Tourism Criteria to businesses, tourist areas and destinations to develop green and sustainable tourism models.

The Tourist Support Center and the Rapid Response Team continue to promote their roles, ensuring timely reception and handling of feedback; providing information and supporting tourists through electronic information systems and promotional publications. The city also assigned the task to agencies to coordinate in organizing interdisciplinary inspection teams on prices, food hygiene and safety, fire prevention and fighting, environment, clean water, price listing; handling counterfeit goods, fake goods, and commercial fraud at tourism service establishments.

In addition, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment is responsible for propagating and guiding businesses and people to properly implement environmental protection regulations. Coordinate the organization of community communication campaigns such as "Green tourism", "Tourism without plastic waste", "Green Sunday", "Cleaning beaches, rivers, forests..." included in the tasks of the Project "Building Da Nang - Environmental City".

Da Nang City Police are assigned to strengthen security and order management, ensure traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting, search and rescue, strictly handle acts that violate national security and cause social disorder. At the same time, tighten management of entry, exit and residence of foreigners; enhance the image of a friendly and civilized police force in dealing with tourists.

The Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones are responsible to the City People's Committee for the management, development and protection of the tourism environment in the areas under their management. Strengthen the organization of propaganda and dissemination to raise awareness among the community and tourists about the provisions of law related to environmental protection and related documents; at the same time, guide organizations and individuals doing tourism business to comply with the regulations on environmental protection and participate in activities to maintain security, order, social safety, behave civilly and friendly towards tourists; commit not to participate in or assist in acts of harming tourists at tourist areas and spots.

Implement a complete resolution of the situation of brokers, solicitors, solicitors, street vendors, and beggars; people who take advantage of or bring children, disabled people, and the elderly to sell goods on the street, combined with begging in the area, causing inconvenience to tourists; have solutions to reduce noise pollution in tourist areas and spots; plan and arrange suitable areas for selling snacks, souvenirs, and street vendors; promptly detect and prevent illegal tourism activities that risk causing accidents to tourists. Implement security and order assurance, check and handle pickpockets and theft of tourists' property, especially in areas where events, festivals, and places with large tourist concentrations.../.
