In 2024, the locality received 239 applications for awards, including 3 inventions and 3 utility solutions granted protection certificates, 19 works winning awards at the ministerial, industry and national levels, and 214 scientific articles published in international journals.
As a result, 3 inventions, 2 useful solutions, 19 projects and 49 articles were selected to receive Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, with a total reward of more than 470 million VND.
In addition, 9 outstanding groups and 9 individuals in innovative start-up activities were also honored, with a total reward of nearly 95 million VND.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee, said that this is the fourth consecutive year that Da Nang has been honored by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association as an "Attractive City for Innovative Startups".
According to the assessment and ranking results of the Ministry of Science and Technology on the Local Innovation Index, in 2023 and 2024, Da Nang City is in the top of the country and always leads the North Central and Central Coast regions.
In 2024, Da Nang City will be in the top 1,000 global cities for the first time in terms of startup ecosystems according to the ranking of the Startup Blink Center for Research and Mapping the Global Startup Ecosystem.
These titles are not only proof of the city's right direction, but also clearly demonstrate Da Nang's pioneering role in the national strategy for science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development.
Da Nang City leaders expect scientists and start-up businesses to continue promoting their creative spirit and contributing more to the comprehensive development of Da Nang and the region.
