On June 9, Colonel Diep Van The, Deputy Director of Kien Giang Provincial Police, confirmed that he had found a Patek Philippe watch worth VND278 million.
A female passenger reported losing this watch at the end of 2022 at Phu Quoc International Airport. However, the police have not officially informed the reason for the loss of the watch and the location where it was found.

As reported, on December 25, 2022, the family of Ms. Mac Thanh Thao (35 years old, Vietnamese American) went to Phu Quoc airport to check in for the flight back to Ho Chi Minh City on flight VN6526 taking off at 9:55 am.
According to Ms. Thao, she put the Patek Philippe watch worth 278 million VND in her handbag, then put the handbag on a tray that ran through the security scanner. Ms. Thao pushed the tray through the machine, her husband on the other end received the tray containing the bag...
However, when Mrs. Thao checked again, the watch was no longer in her bag. She checked the trays around but could not find the watch.
The incident was then reported by Ms. Thao to the police of Duong To commune, Phu Quoc city. By the afternoon of December 30, Phu Quoc International Airport had extracted the camera and sent 4 clips and 3 related photos to the local police to verify the search for the watch as reported by Ms. Thao.
