Early in the morning of the 4th day of the 4th lunar month, delegations of local leaders and representatives of clans in residential groups 6 and 7, Buoi ward, Tay Ho district, Hanoi solemnly held ceremonies and took turns to offer sacrifices at the temple, which is over 1,000 years old.
Representing the Organizing Committee of the festival, Mr. Nguyen Dang Hung - Secretary of the Party Cell of Residential Group No. 6, Head of the Dong Xa Relic Management Subcommittee (Buoi Ward, Tay Ho District, Hanoi) performed the ceremony of Oath of Loyalty at Dong Co Temple, solemnly reciting the oath: "Being an unfilial son/Being a disloyal subject/May the gods destroy".

Mr. Nguyen Dang Hung said: Dong Co Temple was built in 1020, during the Ly Dynasty, worshiping the god of Dong Co Mountain, and was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic. The Dong Co Temple Loyalty Oath was first held in 1028, with the meaning of promoting the tradition of patriotism, honoring children who are filial to their ancestors, grandparents, and parents, and raising awareness of each citizen's responsibility to their homeland and country.
Through feudal dynasties to the present day, the Loyalty and Filial Piety Oath remains intact in value. In 2023, the Loyalty and Filial Piety Oath at Dong Co Temple was listed as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage. Every year, on the occasion of the Dong Co Temple Festival, local people gather here to perform traditional rituals, reminding each person to live with gratitude and responsibility towards their parents and family, contributing to the development of the community and society.

The Dong Co Temple Oath has special value in the Vietnamese cultural heritage system, clearly demonstrating the patriotism, loyalty and filial piety of the Vietnamese people. Participating in the festival are not only people from the Buoi region, but also many people from other regions, especially international tourists. The activities in the festival are organized to arouse national pride and self-esteem,educate the country's historical and cultural traditions, and at the same time, honor, preserve and promote the national intangible cultural heritage of the Dong Co Temple Oath of Loyalty.

For local people, the Dong Co Temple Traditional Festival represents community cohesion and plays a particularly important role in the spiritual and cultural life of the Dong Xa community in particular and Tay Ho district in general.
After 997 years, the Festival has been maintained, practiced, and passed down from generation to generation, with a strong influence on the spiritual and cultural life of the local community.
