Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the plan to convert equivalent benchmark scores

On the morning of May 22, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced a plan to convert equivalent scores between regular university admission methods of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2025.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology said it will apply the Percentile Equating method to find equivalent benchmark scores between the three admission methods of the University in 2025, including: Talent Admission Method; Admission Method based on Thinking Assessment Test Scores; Admission Method based on High School Graduation Exam Scores.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology has collected and analyzed the enrollment data of the past 3 years, different admission combinations, analyzed the distribution of Talent Admission scores by areas, the distribution of TSA exam scores, the distribution of high school graduation exam scores with the original combination of A00 (Math-Physics-Chemistry) to determine the relative percentile range.

On that basis, the expert team has built a correlation table between university admission methods of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Accordingly, the Top% of high school graduation exam scores is calculated based on the total score of the original admission combination A00 (Math-Physics-Chemistry) for candidates with scores from the floor score to the highest score (30 points); Top% of Talent Admission scores 1.2 and 1.3 are calculated based on the total number of candidates with scores according to the Talent Admission method from the floor score to the highest score (100 points); Top% of Thinking Assessment scores is calculated based on the total number of candidates with TSA scores from the floor score to the highest score (100 points). The floor score is announced annually by Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Percentile table of correlation between admission methods of Hanoi University of Science and Technology:

The specific percentile values ​​of the above Table will be calculated based on the Talent Selection score, TSA score, 2025 high school graduation exam score and academic results of students admitted according to the corresponding admission methods.

For other high school graduation exam score combinations other than the original A00 combination above, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will also calculate based on the corresponding difference in scores announced by the Ministry of Education and Training along with high school graduation exam scores.

"From the Correlation Percentile Table with specific percentile range values, the conversion function between different admission methods will be interpolated" - Hanoi University of Science and Technology informed. From the standard score in the percentile range of this admission method, it will be interpolated to the standard score in the corresponding percentile range of another admission method according to the formula:
