At the meeting, Dr. João Gabriel de Barros highly appreciated the positive developments in the Vietnam-Mozambique cooperation relationship in recent times in many fields, includingeducational cooperation, typically the practical contributions of Vietnamese education experts and teachers, as well as the two countries maintaining student exchanges within the framework of the bilateral agreement on educational cooperation.
Rector João Gabriel de Barros shared about the history and training majors of Joaquim Chissano University, especially in the areas of international relations and public administration, and asked the Embassy and Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin personally to help the university strengthen connections, exchanges and cooperation with Vietnamese schools and research institutes.

Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin congratulated Joaquim Chissano University on its important achievements in training and research in recent times, and expressed her hope that with its training strengths, Joaquim Chissano University will continue to be one of the leading educational institutions in Mozambique, training human resources to contribute to the sustainable and prosperous development of the country.
According to the Ambassador, scientific research cooperation is an aspect that both sides can study and promote. Vietnam has many prestigious research institutions in the fields that Joaquim Chissano University is looking to promote effectively such as international relations, political science, public administration, international economics, science and technology, international law, international communications, etc.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to implement a number of cooperation initiatives in the coming time to enhance understanding of Vietnam's country, people, and foreign policy with local academics and researchers, as well as promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the fields of training and scientific research.
Joaquim Chissano University, formerly the Institute of International Relations, was founded in 1986, and then merged with the Institute of Public Administration in 2004. The school, named after former President Joaquim Chissano, has diverse teaching and research programs in the fields of international relations, public administration, international economics, international security, political science, international law, and has research cooperation and student exchange with many training institutions in Brazil, India, Japan, etc. In addition to its bachelor and master programs, the Joaquim Chissano University promotes basic and applied research in the fields of peace, conflict and international security, international migration, foreign policy, regional integration and public administration. For many years, it has been a training base for Mozambique's diplomatic and public administration personnel. |
