Tra Vinh University has just made a strong impression in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2024 when it reached 133/1,477, continuing to rise compared to 2023 and maintaining its position in the top 200 green universities, leading sustainable development in the world . This is the fifth consecutive year the school has maintained this proud achievement, affirming its relentless commitment to sustainable development.

UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is the first and only organization in the world to rank universities based on criteria for construction, governance and sustainable, environmentally friendly development. Initiated in 2010, this ranking attracted the participation of 1,477educational institutions from 95 countries. This is considered the first and most prestigious ranking today in evaluating and measuring sustainable development criteria at universities worldwide.

In this year’s rankings, Tra Vinh University has made a remarkable leap forward, rising from 139/1,183 in 2023 to 133/1,477. The university also ranked second out of seven universities in Vietnam participating in the rankings, affirming its position in the top 200 pioneering universities in sustainable development in the world.

This result is determined based on six main criteria of UI GreenMetric: infrastructure (15%), energy and climate change (21%), waste management (18%), water resources (10%), transport (18%) and education - research (18%). In particular, 2024 witnessed the addition of new indicators related to the application of information and communication technology, showing a comprehensive development in the assessment method.

In addition to this outstanding achievement, Tra Vinh University has also just announced four more training programs that have achieved AUN-QA international education quality accreditation, bringing the total number of accredited programs to 19 according to international standards FIBAA, AUN and ABET. This contributes to putting the school in the top educational institutions in the Mekong Delta with many international education quality accreditation programs.
This result is not only a testament to Tra Vinh University’s long-term commitment to global sustainable development goals but also demonstrates the university’s relentless efforts in improving the quality of teaching and research. The university affirms that it will continue to invest heavily in green solutions and cooperate with international organizations to maintain and improve its rankings in the future.
