Congress of Vietnam Association of Photographers in Quang Binh province

(NADS) - On December 20, 2024, in Dong Hoi city, the Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists of Quang Binh province took place successfully. Leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Department of Culture, Department PA 03, Standing Committee of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association and invited delegates.

At the Congress, Photographer Le Duc Thanh presented a summary report, emphasizing the outstanding achievements of the Association over the past 5 years. Under the direction of the Vietnam Association of Photographers, the support of local authorities and the Quang Binh Provincial Literature and Arts Association, members have continuously created and contributed many excellent works.

Sculptor Phan Dinh Tien, Chairman of the Quang Binh Province Literature and Arts Association, spoke at the Congress.

In particular, the last term recorded:

• The association has developed 2 new members: Artist Nguyen Hai (2021) and Artist Luong Sang (2024).

• Members actively participate in composing and exhibiting, winning many important awards at national and international levels.

• 03 Gold Medals, 02 Silver Medals and many international honorary degrees.

• Notable works: “King Ngu” by Nguyen Thanh Vuong, “Quang Binh Wind Power” by Duc Thanh, “Flowers of the Sand Region” by Nguyen Hai…

• Participated in creative camps in many localities and achieved high results in competitions in the North Central region, nationwide and internationally.

• Many prestigious awards such as "Fatherland on the shore of the waves", "Proud of a frontier strip" by Nguyen Hai, and Duc Thanh, Thanh Vuong, Vo Xuan Be.

The report also frankly pointed out some limitations such as the small number of members, limited funding sources and low access to modern technology.

At the congress, Sculptor Phan Dinh Tien gave a speech with profound guidance, orienting the Association to continue to stick with political tasks, contributing to promoting the image of Quang Binh through the art of photography. Painter Doan Van Thinh, Head of the Department of Culture and Sports, also expressed his expectations for the development of the Association in the new term.

Notably, artist Thanh Vuong made a speech and recommended that the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists improve professionalism in establishing regional photo judging panels. Artist Vo Xuan Be, despite his advanced age, is still enthusiastic about sharing his experiences and encouraging the younger generation.

The Congress elected NSNA Hoang An as Branch President for the 2024-2029 term with an absolute majority of votes. The two delegates elected to attend the National Congress are NSNA Thanh Vuong and NSNA Hoang An.

The direction for the 2024 - 2029 term is clearly defined:

• Promote creativity and improve the quality of works participating in exhibitions and competitions.

• Expand the membership, especially discover and nurture young talents.

• Organize art photography exhibitions, exploit the cultural potential and scenic spots of Quang Binh.

Sculptor Phan Dinh Tien, Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial Literature and Arts Association, presented flowers to congratulate Artist Le Duc Thanh on successfully completing his duties as Branch President for the 2019-2024 term.

The congress affirmed the important role of the Association in promoting the culture and people of Quang Binh. With the spirit of solidarity and creativity, the artists will continue to strive to raise the position of Quang Binh photography on the national and international art map.
