The 1st Congress of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a preparatory session.

On the morning of October 13, at the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials, the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030, held a preparatory session. Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang chaired the preparatory session.

Before the preparatory session, delegates attending the congress visited the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs' Cemetery and offered flowers at the Ho Chi Minh President Monument.

The Congress convened 550 delegates, including 110 ex-officio delegates and 440 appointed delegates, divided into 12 delegation groups.

At the preparatory session, the congress elected the presidium, secretariat, delegate qualification review committee and approved the working program and working regulations of the congress.

The Congress will also approve a report synthesizing the opinions of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on draft documents submitted to the 14th Party Congress, and approve the regulations of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress.

Notably, at the preparatory session, delegates will contribute to support people in overcoming the consequences of floods and natural disasters.

The 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030 is the first congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee after merging Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces into Ho Chi Minh City, with the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Creativity".

The congress has the theme "Building a clean and strong Party organization and political system; promoting the strength of national solidarity; making breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and private economic development; strengthening national defense, security, foreign affairs and international integration; mobilizing and effectively using all resources for Ho Chi Minh City to pioneer with the whole country in the new era".

The first Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has the task of reviewing and evaluating the results of the 2020-2025 term; setting out directions, goals, tasks, and breakthrough solutions for the 2025-2030 period to optimize resources, concretize new growth drivers, and be determined to build Ho Chi Minh City into a multi-centered urban area with economy, finance, services, culture, education, health, science and technology, innovation, creativity, smart development, modernity, green and sustainable growth, firmly ensuring national defense, security, foreign affairs, building a clean and strong Party Committee and political system in all aspects.
