The 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province

(GLO)- On the afternoon of June 19, the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DTC) of Gia Lai province held its first Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Attending the Congress were comrade Hua Thi Phuong - Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee and 113 party members currently active in 5 Party Cells under the Department's Party Committee.

Speaking at the opening of the congress, comrade Tran Ngoc Nhung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee (term 2020-2025), Director of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: The motto of this congress is: "Building a clean and strong Party organization in all aspects, effectively leading the implementation of cultural, family, sports, tourism and press and publishing work". Therefore, the congress needs to promote the spirit of solidarity, drastic innovation, proactive creativity, will and responsibility of each Party member, clearly defining tasks and goals, so that the leadership of agencies and organizations and unions can successfully complete assigned political tasks in the new situation.

During the 2020-2025 term, the Executive Committee and all Party members in the entire Party Committee have united, overcome all difficulties, creating momentum to promote all activities of the provincial Culture, Sports and Tourism sector to develop further.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has advised the Provincial People's Committee to successfully organize typical cultural events, such as: Week of events celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of Gia Lai province (May 24, 1932 - May 24, 2022); Gia Lai Culture and Tourism Week; Central Highlands Gong Culture Performance Festival of Gia Lai province in 2023; successfully organizing the annual Gia Lai Province Ethnic Culture Festival. In the past 5 years, the Department has organized 69 provincial sports competitions, 20 regional and national sports competitions. From 2021 to June 2025, 123 delegations of athletes were established to compete in 123 high-performance sports competitions at home and abroad, winning 613 medals of all kinds...

Regarding Party building work, the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism currently has 121 Party members, and in the past term, 28 Party members were admitted. In addition, the Party Committee has led political and ideological work, led and directed the implementation of professional tasks well; launched and organized patriotic emulation movements; implemented thrift practice and anti-waste; performed well the inspection, supervision and discipline enforcement work within the Party...

The Congress approved the report reviewing the leadership of the Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term; participated in discussions, contributed opinions, and proposed directions for activities in the new term; reported on the synthesis of opinions on the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party and the Political Report submitted to the 1st Congress of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term; approved the main targets of the Congress Resolution; approved the draft Congress Resolution and the Congress voted on the full text of the resolution.
