February 13 of each year is chosen by UNESCO (United NationsEducational , Scientific and Cultural Organization) as World Radio Day, to honor and affirm the positive contribution of radio to the development of society and nations.

Radio Writing Contest.

To celebrate World Radio Day 2024, VTV launched a writing contest on radio with the theme "Radio - a century of serving information, entertainment and education".

The contest is open to all Vietnamese people living in the country and abroad; foreigners living in Vietnam. Entries can be in the form of articles (handwritten or typed) or presented in video or audio format in Vietnamese or English on the following topics: history and importance of radio, meaning of World Radio Day, role of radio in life, suggestions and wishes for radio programs, theme of World Radio Day 2024 proposed by UNESCO...

Entries must be new, unused, and unpublished works in any media or publications, and not posted on websites, blogs, or social networking sites of organizations or individuals. Entries must not be published in the author's own books or in any public collections until the end of the contest (February 13, 2024).

The submission period starts from November 15, 2023 to January 30, 2024.

The prize structure includes:

- 02 Special Prizes: Free tour to Jakarta, Indonesia for 5 days, 4 nights; including a visit to the National Radio Indonesia (RRI). This prize is sponsored by the Indonesian Embassy in Vietnam.

- 01 First Prize: 15,000,000 VND

- 01 Second Prize: 10,000,000 VND

- 02 Third Prizes: 5,000,000 VND/prize
