On the morning of June 27, along with more than 1 million candidates nationwide, candidates from Dak Lak province entered the first day of the 2024 High School Graduation Exam. This is the last High School Graduation Exam according to the 2006 GeneralEducation Program.
In the morning, candidates will take the Literature exam in essay form, with a duration of 120 minutes. In the afternoon, candidates will take the Math exam in multiple choice form, with a duration of 90 minutes.

The first exam took place in cool weather, with smooth traffic and no congestion. At the Hong Duc High School exam site, most of the candidates arrived quite early to prepare for the procedures to enter the exam room.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , at exactly 7:30 a.m., candidates will start receiving the exam papers and taking the exam, but after 6 a.m., many parents and candidates arrived at the exam locations to avoid possible traffic accidents that could affect the candidates' psychology when entering the exam room. Mr. Le Van Yen (a parent from Ea H'leo district, whose child is studying at the Tay Nguyen Boarding Ethnic High School) shared: "Because the house is far away, my parents followed my child here since yesterday, at the same time carefully preparing, taking care of my health and encouraging my child to be calm and confident to do well on the exam."

The Literature exam is the only essay exam of the exam. The exam has the same structure as the previous sample exam of the Ministry of Education and Training with 2 parts: reading comprehension 3 points (4 questions); writing 7 points (2 questions). The work "Country" by poet Nguyen Khoa Diem was chosen as the material for the high school graduation literature exam with questions worth 5 points.
According to a quick report from the Department of Education and Training, at the Literature exam, the whole province had 20,590 candidates taking the exam (99.75%) out of a total of 20,641 candidates registered for the exam, with 51 candidates absent; there were 10 exam sites with 100% of candidates taking the exam, including the following schools: Phan Chu Trinh High School, Nguyen Hue High School, Hai Ba Trung High School, Viet Duc High School, Nguyen Cong Tru High School, Le Hong Phong High School, Ngo Gia Tu High School, Tran Quoc Toan High School, Tran Nhan Tong High School, Cao Ba Quat High School.

After 120 minutes of taking the exam, at the exam site of Le Quy Don High School (Buon Ma Thuot City), the candidates left the exam room, most of them were happy and relaxed after completing the Literature exam and ready to take the Math exam this afternoon. Tran Bao Ai Ny (student of Buon Ma Thuot High School) said: "This year's Literature exam was within my ability, especially the social discussion question about "the meaning of respecting individuality" was quite good and suitable for young people. With the exam I have done, I am confident that I will get 8 points or more".
Candidates were quite relaxed after completing the Literature exam.
Feeling quite relaxed after completing the first exam, candidate Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu (student of Le Quy Don High School) shared: “This year’s Literature exam was not too difficult. I have carefully reviewed the “Country” lesson as well as the other lessons, so I basically did the test. The exam was quite similar to the sample exam structure. I am quite satisfied with my exam and predict that I will get over 7 points.”
This afternoon (June 27), candidates continued to take the Math exam with a 90-minute test time in multiple-choice format.
