According to the forecast of the Dak Lak Province Hydrometeorological Station, in the next 6-12 hours, the flood on the Krong Ana River and the downstream of the Serepok River will continue to rise. In the next 12-24 hours, the flood on the Krong Ana River will exceed alert level 3, while the flood on the downstream of the Serepok River will peak and tend to decrease.
Currently, Buôn Tua Srah Lake is regulating the total flow of about 1,340 m³/s, causing the water volume to Buôn Kuốp Lake (located below) to continue to increase. It is forecasted that the flood peak at Buôn Kuốp Lake may reach 1,800 - 1,900 m³/s in the early morning of November 21.

According to Buon Kuop Hydropower Company, due to its small capacity, Buon Kuop reservoir is not able to reduce flooding, forcing it to release overflow at a flow rate that balances the flow according to the inter-reservoir process. Specifically, from 8:00 p.m. on November 20 to 2:00 p.m. on November 21, the reservoir will release overflow at a rate of 1,500 - 1,600 m³/s (not including the maximum machine flow of 300 m³/s).
Buon Kuop Hydropower Company warns of the risk of deep flooding in the downstream area of Buon Kuop reservoir spillway to the head of Hoa Phu Hydropower reservoir, with water levels about 0.5 - 2m higher than the 2020 discharge (over 1,100 m³/s).
The company requested that the authorities urgently notify people in the downstream area and proactively plan to evacuate people and property to higher places to ensure safety of life and property.
