Mai Son and Yen Chau districts are areas with many large factories and industrial parks in the province. To ensure stable power supply for production and business, the Mai Son - Yen Chau Power Company has implemented measures to limit overload, ensuring production, business and daily life for local people.

Currently, Mai Son - Yen Chau Regional Power Company is managing 8 medium voltage lines in Mai Son and Yen Chau districts, with a line length of over 980 km; low voltage lines longer than 920 km; 670 distribution transformer stations with a total capacity of 134,374 kVA; 372 switching devices; 18 medium voltage grid compensation stations with a compensation capacity of 5,400 kVA; 327 low voltage grid reactive power compensation stations with a capacity of 8,620 kVAr. Managing operations and selling electricity to over 71,372 electricity customers in the two districts.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghi, Director of the Mai Son - Yen Chau Power Company, informed: The unit has made plans to repair and upgrade transformer stations and power lines, and has developed a plan to quickly handle technical problems when they occur, as well as a plan to provide stable power. Complete the overall maintenance of the power grid system; check and install relays, switch transformers suitable for each area, balance the phase of transformer stations, and be ready to provide stable power to serve the needs of socio -economic development and daily life of people in the two districts. At the same time, Son La Power Company is requested to renovate backup transformer stations to ensure power supply for people when problems occur.
In 2023, the unit carried out 37 regular repair projects; coordinated the implementation of 1 major repair project for the low-voltage grid; 1 major equipment repair project; 3 projects to overcome property damage on 0.4kV lines, 35kV lines + substations; coordinated the implementation of 4 investment projects with 1 overload prevention project (including 10 substations), 1 multi-split multi-connection project (installing LBS), 2 projects to build 110kV transformer stations, etc.
The specialized departments have advised and proposed solutions for the Board of Directors to plan the procurement of equipment and materials, repair and upgrade transformer stations and power lines, and develop a plan to quickly handle technical problems when incidents occur. Mr. Ngo Quoc Dang, Deputy Head of the Planning and Technical Department, Mai Son - Yen Chau Power Company, said: The department assigned staff to monitor the remote measurement software, promptly detect transformer stations with phase deviation, full load, overload, propose to the unit's leaders to come up with a solution; install additional switching devices on the lines, and isolate the area when incidents occur. Arrange a team to repair incidents 24/7, ensuring electricity for companies, businesses and production and business units, especially during Tet. Mr. Nguyen Trung Dung, Head of the Yen Chau District Power Line and Transformer Station Management and Operation Team, informed: Yen Chau District has a large area, with relatively large production and business activities, serving industrial and agricultural production, especially during Tet. The team is increasing patrols, inspections, repairs, upgrades and putting into operation dozens of new transformer stations, maintaining, repairing, supplementing and replacing damaged or poor quality low-voltage lines, determined to ensure stable power supply in the area.

Accompanying technical staff to inspect the transformer station at the Song Lam Tay Bac Fertilizer Factory and the Son La Coffee Processing Factory in Muong Bon Commune, Mai Son District, at the time the factory was operating. These are two factories with large electricity consumption, Mr. Le Xuan Vinh, Manager of the coffee processing workshop, said: Currently, the factory is in the production season, the Mai Son - Yen Chau Regional Electricity regularly comes to inspect and promptly repair any damage to the power system supplying the factory, so the power source always provides enough load continuously and stably.
