In the first 6 months of the year, the Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches and localities actively directed and implemented plans to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, launching a peak period to implement the Prime Minister 's Official Dispatch 65/CD-TTg dated May 15, 2025. The functional forces promptly detected and strictly handled violations, contributing to stabilizing the market and protecting the rights of businesses and consumers. Nationwide, 49,714 violations were handled, collecting over VND 6,459 billion in the budget, prosecuting 1,899 cases with 3,271 subjects. In the peak month alone, 10,437 cases were handled, collecting VND 1,279 billion in the budget, temporarily seizing goods worth over VND 4,075 billion, prosecuting 204 cases with 378 defendants.

Implementing the Prime Minister's telegram, Son La province has established 4 interdisciplinary inspection teams chaired by leaders of departments and branches, simultaneously conducting inspections throughout the province, focusing on essential goods such as food, medicine, cosmetics, cakes, milk, etc. The teams have inspected 67 cases, transferred 30 cases to competent authorities for handling, and taken 7 samples of agricultural materials for quality testing, currently awaiting analysis results. The functional forces have vigorously implemented the peak plan against smuggling and trade fraud, and have strictly handled violations.

Speaking at the Conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, branches, localities and functional forces to strengthen inspection, supervision and strictly handle acts of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights; especially products that affect people's health. Strengthen the application of technology and digital transformation in prevention and control work; improve the effectiveness of hotlines, promptly receive and handle reports. Step up legal propaganda, raise public awareness, launch a nationwide movement to boycott counterfeit goods and goods of unknown origin. Ministries and branches should promptly complete legal documents; People's Committees of provinces and cities should quickly complete Steering Committee 389 after the merger, ensuring the effectiveness of smuggling prevention and control in localities.
