Tho Chau - a rough gem in the Southwest sea

Tho Chau is a small island commune with 8 large and small islands, belonging to Kien Giang province, more than 100 nautical miles (185km) from Rach Gia city, and especially can only take a speedboat from Phu Quoc. This limitation in terms of means of transport makes the remote island even more remote for ordinary tourists.

Because of this limitation, we were able to immerse ourselves in the clear blue water of pristine beaches such as Bai Ngu and Bai Dong…

Small islands such as Hon Xanh and Hon Nhan are also uninhabited so visitors can freely play Robinson to explore the green island.

On sunsets, hanging hammocks between two coconut trees on Bai Ngu, watching the sun slowly set on the sparkling golden sea, the peaceful picture of the ocean was imprinted in our minds.

Tho Chau archipelago is also home to many rare coral species. Border guards here said there are currently more than 90 types of coral, scattered around the large island and nearby small islands.

This is a huge potential for exploiting discovery tourism in the future.
