(Dan Tri) - The workshop “Implementing ESG with AI, what should businesses do?” will be held on August 14. The speakers of the workshop are leading experts in ESG implementation and science and technology.

1:30 p.m. on August 14, the workshop “Implementing ESG with AI, what should businesses do?” will take place at JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon (HCMC). The workshop is co-organized by the Department of Science and Technology of HCMC and Dan Tri newspaper.

Following the success of the first Vietnam ESG Forum, Dan Tri newspaper continues to organize the Vietnam ESG Forum 2025 with the theme "Science and technology and driving force for sustainable development". The theme of this year's Forum is considered to be in line with the spirit of Resolution 57 of the Politburo , which is to take science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as driving forces for development.

The Organizing Committee of the Vietnam ESG Forum said that AI is a trend in the context of increasingly developing science and technology. The legal corridor, regulatory framework for AI application in ESG implementation, the current status of application in corporate governance, the results achieved, how to measure effectiveness... will be the issues shared by speakers at the workshop.

Experts and policymakers will suggest solutions for each group of businesses, in the story of applying AI to ESG implementation, especially for each pillar E, S, G and each type of business based on actual potential.

These contents are of interest to businesses, especially small and medium enterprises, in planning a sustainable development roadmap and exporting to countries with many binding regulations on ESG.

With the participation of speakers who are leading experts in ESG, digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) and pioneering business leaders in Vietnam, the workshop will bring practical perspectives and clear strategies to the business community that is striving to integrate ESG into business operations.

The presentations and discussions of the speakers in the workshop will directly answer the question “What should businesses do to implement ESG with AI?”. Mr. Lam Dinh Thang is currently a member of the City Party Committee and Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City. He has a Master's degree in Human Resource Management, a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, a Bachelor's degree in Party Building and State Administration, and a Senior degree in Political Theory.

He grew up working at the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and held the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Binh Thanh District Party Committee.

In May 2020, he was transferred to hold the position of Secretary of District 9 Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term. In March 2021, he was appointed Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Thang was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister, Outstanding Party member for excellent performance of tasks for 5 consecutive years, Certificate of Merit from the Central Youth Union, Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and City-level Emulation Fighter.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Principal of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung graduated from the National Economics University with a degree in Finance and Banking. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Banking Academy and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2016.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung used to work at the Banking Academy, holding the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Forecasting and Statistics - State Bank before being assigned as Vice Rector, Vice Rector in charge and now Principal of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Trung is also a member of the Senior Council of the Vietnam ESG Forum. In seminars and talks, he regularly shares many experiences and offers practical solutions related to the reality in Vietnam, helping Vietnamese businesses overcome difficulties, seize opportunities, and reach sustainable success.

Mr. Dinh Hong Ky is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Secoin Joint Stock Company. He is also Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Construction and Building Materials Association (SACA), Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association (HGBA), Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association (HUBA), Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Building Materials (VABM).

Ms. Tran Phuong Nga joined Thien Long in 2012 and was appointed Deputy General Director of Finance and Accounting and Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Directors in February 2017. Before joining Thien Long, she was a senior manager at domestic and foreign companies.

In June 2021, Ms. Tran Phuong Nga officially became the CEO of this group. Ms. Nga wishes to bring innovation in business thinking and operations in a flexible, open, and responsive manner; while pursuing the aspiration for sustainable development.

She aspires to build a learning organization and further realize the vision and mission of Thien Long enterprise “to inspire and provide comprehensive and effective solutions for lifelong learning” (happy learning life). The workshop's discussion session brought together many prestigious and experienced speakers. The program was led by Dr. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of VinFuture Foundation and Green Future Foundation.

Dr. Le Thai Ha is the only Vietnamese female scientist to be consecutively named in the list of the world's most influential scientists for the period 2021-2023, announced by Stanford University (USA).

Dr. Ha has published more than 80 articles in leading international journals in the fields of energy economics, environment and applied economics. For many years, she has been in the group of 1% of the most influential scientists in the world.

She brings to the conference nearly 30 years of experience in the fields of strategy consulting, operations consulting, enterprise risk management, auditing and assurance.

Ms. Ngoc has advised many multinational corporations and large enterprises in the energy, banking, telecommunications, and technology sectors. In addition to her role at Deloitte, she is also Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA), actively contributing to improving professional standards in the auditing and consulting sector in Vietnam.

Representing the technology sector, Ms. Pham Thi Quynh Vi - Director of Quality of FPT Corporation - has taken on the leadership role of quality control and assurance at the corporation since June 2021. Joining FPT since 2004, she has held many important management positions, leading projects to improve processes and enhance the quality of FPT Software's software products.

Prof. Dr. Mac Quoc Anh - Vice President and General Secretary of the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, Director of the Institute of Economics and Enterprise Development

As Vice President and General Secretary of the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, Director of the Institute of Economics and Enterprise Development, Mr. Mac Quoc Anh has had many activities to support and promote activities to improve the investment environment for enterprises, and at the same time coordinate with functional agencies in removing difficulties for enterprises in terms of credit, tax, customs, import and export, etc.
