The incident of singer Rosé (Blackpink) having her image cut out by British Elle magazine when she participated in a show within the framework of Paris Fashion Week has turned into a major media scandal, causing controversy among global fashion enthusiasts.

The incident escalated when a large number of fans of the owner of the hit song with nearly 2 billion views, APT. , expressed outrage and pressured the British magazine to issue an apology.

The story begins in the front row of the Yves Saint Laurent show, where Rosé, in her capacity as the brand's global ambassador, sits alongside Western stars Hailey Bieber, Zoë Kravitz, and Charli XCX.

These 3 stars chatted animatedly, completely ignoring Rosé, making the "Australian rose" look lost and confused in the video that went viral among fans and the media.

More notably, Charli XCX, who sat next to Rosé, also posted a photo of the four of them, but Rosé was hidden in the dark. This was an action that was judged by public opinion as an intentional attempt to "drown" her colleague, causing millions of Rosé's fans to be upset and continuously send messages of blame to Charli XCX.

Although Charli XCX later posted photos with Rosé, it was difficult to appease the Australian singer's fans.

A post by British Elle magazine angered Rosé's fans because it cut the female singer out of the frame of a photo of four artists taken together (Photo: Instagram).

The severity of the incident was pushed to its peak when British Elle magazine was discovered to have completely cut Rosé out of a group photo of 4 people, only posting images of 3 Western stars.

Throughout the article reporting on the show and the atmosphere of Paris Fashion Week, the magazine did not mention or post any pictures of Rosé, reinforcing suspicions of discrimination against the female singer.

This magazine's action was like a spark that ignited the anger of Rosé's fan community, leading to thousands of protesting comments, demanding respect for the APT singer.

Under immense pressure from international public opinion, on the morning of October 3, British Elle magazine was forced to respond. The magazine deleted the controversial post and apologized to Rosé.

Specifically, the magazine posted: "We sincerely apologize for the recent controversial post from Paris Fashion Week. Rosé - Saint Laurent's brand ambassador - was cropped out of the group photo in the post promoting our show due to size reasons.

We did not mean to offend anyone. The post has now been removed. Through this incident, Elle UK commits to ensuring that in future posts we will ensure we accurately and adequately reflect the events to show respect for everyone."

However, the reason given as "the post size is not enough" to contain the images of the 4 stars was harshly rejected by Rosé's fans.

Many fans commented that the magazine could have used simple technical solutions such as reducing the photo or choosing another photo, instead of choosing the most controversial solution of cutting out only Rosé, who is one of the fashion brand's most important guests.

This explanation was considered "defensive", lacking sincerity and only a pretext to admit mistakes in the face of fierce criticism.

Rosé’s case is considered a typical example of the problem of discrimination between artists that still exists in the European and American entertainment market. Although Rosé is recognized for her international status and influence, she still faces indifference.

Along with Rosé, her close friend in Blackpink, Jisoo, also did not achieve the desired media image success due to her poor choice of outfits. Another Asian star, Dilraba Dilmurat, also had a wardrobe malfunction. Specifically, her Dior shoes broke on the heel while moving.

In another development, singer Lisa (Blackpink) shone brightly when participating in the Louis Vuitton show, becoming the highlight of Asian stars at Paris Fashion Week.

These rude and uncivilized actions, whether by celebrities or famous magazines, tarnish the image of world-class events. Rosé's incident is still a hot topic, continuing to promote strong public demands for respect and the complete elimination of racial prejudice in the fashion and entertainment industry.
