On September 16, Ms. Nguyen Thai Quynh Nga - Principal of Trung Vuong Primary School (Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong Province) said that she is continuing to work with local authorities to clarify the content of the complaint of the people about "dirty food" being brought into the school's boarding kitchen.

Ms. Nga said: The incident of substandard food occurred in April 2025, but now Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh (former assistant chef) has posted it online. The restaurant no longer has a contract with Ms. Thanh and head chef Nguyen Thi Thai Oanh.

At noon of the same day (September 16), dozens of parents gathered in front of the gate of Trung Vuong Primary School to take their children home for lunch, instead of staying at the boarding school. The incident occurred when a petition was circulated on social media accusing the school principal of repeatedly allowing suppliers to bring poor quality food into the kitchen.

According to the complaint, from November 2024 to April 2025, the school's boarding kitchen had to receive substandard ingredients many times. The complaint stated: On November 21, 2024, the supplier delivered 10kg of smelly, green pork bones; on December 26, 2024, 35kg of unlabeled frozen beef balls with a strange smell were delivered, and 2 students vomited after the meal.

By March 2025, the kitchen team continued to complain about having to receive 50kg of pre-sliced beef that showed signs of being mixed with oil to increase its weight. Most recently, on April 15, 2025, the supplier delivered 40kg of boiled pork that turned green, and was then recorded for destruction. Notably, although the kitchen team repeatedly requested to change the supplier, the principal still did not approve.

A parent whose child is in grade 3 at Trung Vuong Primary School expressed concern: “Due to our busy work schedule, we have to send our child to the boarding school for meals. Parents always fulfill their responsibility to contribute so that their child can study and eat well, so we hope that the school will also be responsible for ensuring safe meals.

This morning (September 16), we came to work but have not received a satisfactory answer. We hope that the authorities will soon intervene, clarify and handle the matter so that parents can feel secure."

It is known that the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat has assigned relevant departments and offices to inspect the case according to their authority. After receiving the official conclusion from the authorities, the ward will deploy the handling direction according to regulations.
