Colonel Nguyen Thanh An, Deputy Political Commissar of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Military Command, delivered a speech directing the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Defense Command of Region 5 - Yen Son.

During the past term, the Party Committee has advised local Party committees and authorities to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement documents of the Party, State, Army, Military Region and the province on implementing military strategies, national defense strategies, and national defense strategies; on building defense zones and local military and defense work; focusing on building a clean and strong Party Committee, strong and comprehensive agencies and units that are "exemplary and typical".

The Party Committee always strictly implements the principle of democratic centralism, innovates and improves the quality of Party activities, contributes to improving the capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee; and leads to ensure good logistics and technical work for the unit's training and combat readiness tasks.

Speaking at the congress, Colonel Nguyen Thanh An, Deputy Political Commissar of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Military Command, proposed: The Party Committee of the Defense Command of Region 5 - Yen Son in the coming term should focus on advising the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command and coordinate with the Party Committees and authorities of communes and wards to plan and invest in building a defense posture, combining economic development with national defense; build and manage the militia and self-defense forces, reserve mobilization, military recruitment, military education, national defense and security; effectively carry out the work of building, fostering and perfecting the criteria and standards for military positions of communes and wards; promote the work of developing the Party in the militia and self-defense forces, reserve mobilization; effectively carry out Party and political work; coordinate to grasp the local political security situation, build a solid people's position; actively innovate and improve the quality of logistics and technical support for the unit's activities.
