Ho Chi Minh City Cooperative Union Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term: Ready for greater missions

After nearly 02 days of urgent and serious work, in an atmosphere of democracy, solidarity, intelligence and high sense of responsibility, the 12th Congress of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Cooperative Union, term 2025 - 2030 took place successfully and completed the entire content of the Congress program.

Overview of the Congress

Attending the sessions of the Congress were comrade Nguyen Van Dung - Member of the City Party Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Head of Working Group No. 7 and members of Working Group No. 7; comrades representing the leaders of the Office of the Party Committee of the City People's Committee, the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of the City People's Committee; comrades leading and former leading the Party Committee of the Company and 190 delegates, representing 1,464 party members of 136 party committees, departments and affiliated party cells.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Responsibility - Creativity - Breakthrough", the Congress discussed enthusiastically, contributing many profound opinions to the Political Report summarizing and evaluating the results of the implementation of the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, pointing out the advantages, disadvantages, causes and drawing lessons and voted to pass the Resolution of the 12th Congress of the Party Delegates of the Union of Cooperatives, term 2025 - 2030.

This is an important basis for implementing the Congress's goal of "Improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the entire Party Committee, leading the City Union of Commercial Cooperatives to develop sustainably, maintain the title of the leading consumer goods retailer in Vietnam and reach the group of 300 largest cooperatives in the world".

Focusing on solutions to effectively overcome shortcomings, problems and limitations, the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Cooperative Union has paid attention to improving the work of party building in terms of ideology, politics and ethics, in the direction of taking the Party cell as the center, creating a change in awareness and action among cadres, Party members and workers of the entire Party Committee; effectively implementing the work of party building in terms of organization, cadres and Party members, on the basis of arranging subordinate party organizations in the direction of promoting the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and improving the quality of Party activities.

Along with that, the work of developing party members was focused on and implemented well in both quantity and quality; during the term, 456 party members were admitted, reaching 101.3% of the target set by the Congress Resolution.

In particular, the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Cooperative Union pioneered in implementing Resolution 18 of the 12th Party Central Committee on streamlining the organization to operate effectively and efficiently. Accordingly, 24 Project Boards without specialized personnel were dissolved and 09 Project Boards with specialized personnel were dissolved, at least 10% of the departments and 10% of the staff in the office block were reviewed, evaluated and merged; constantly innovating thinking, ways of thinking and ways of doing things to lead the Party Committee to complete the political tasks entrusted by the City Party Committee and People's Committee.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung acknowledged and commended the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Cooperative Union for implementing most of the key programs and projects set out in the Resolution of the 11th Congress, basically completing them as required, affirming the role of the City as a solid food security fortress before, during and after the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, contributing to the City's successful implementation of the dual goal of both effectively preventing and fighting the pandemic and recovering and developing the economy after the pandemic.

To complete the set goals, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung suggested that the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Cooperative Union boldly set a double-digit growth target; Research and correctly assess the practical situation related to the merger of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau into Ho Chi Minh City, ready for bigger missions, in a new space with many challenges, high competitiveness in the modern retail industry. At the same time, ensure effective implementation of resources; constantly improve the material and spiritual life of workers.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the City Trade Cooperative Union for the 12th term 2025 - 2030.

With a serious working spirit and high responsibility, the Congress elected the 12th Executive Committee of the City Trade Cooperative Union Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term, consisting of 18 comrades (1 comrade is absent). The Executive Committee elected a Standing Committee of 4 comrades. Comrade Vu Anh Khoa continued to be trusted to hold the position of Party Committee Secretary.
