Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien excellently won the gold medal at the Bulgarian Gymnastics World Cup

Athlete Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien had an excellent performance, winning the Gold Medal in the pommel horse event with a score of 14,266 points, at the 2025 FIG World Challenge Cup held in Bulgaria.

The coaching staff said that in the qualifying round, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien had excellent performances to qualify for the finals of his specialty, the pommel horse. This was also the event that helped him win the gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games.

In the final of the 2025 Gymnastics World Cup, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien performed an extremely impressive performance. Not only was he technically perfect when completely conquering the judges, but Xuan Thien also satisfied fans when performing difficult moves. With 14,266 points, Xuan Thien surpassed opponents such as Zeinolla Idrissov (Kazakhstan), Azimov (Uzbekistan), to step onto the highest podium of glory amid the joy of the coaching staff and teammates.

Sharing with the press after the victory, Xuan Thien said he did not put too much pressure on himself but focused on completing the test. "I am very happy and proud to bring glory to Vietnam. This is the motivation for me to continue trying in the upcoming major tournaments,".

Also on May 10, Vietnam Gymnastics had one more athlete competing, Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, in the final of the rings event. At the end of his competition, Khanh Phong excellently won the silver medal.

The FIG World Challenge Cup 2025 will take place in Bulgaria from May 8 to 11. The Vietnamese gymnastics team will participate with 5 athletes: Trinh Hai Khang, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien, Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, Dinh Phuong Thanh and Do Nam Anh.
