The revolutionary countryside of Pho Rang town is changing every day, directly contributing to that achievement is thanks to the town Party Committee's great importance in promoting historical and traditional values to arouse internal strength to strive to build the central urban area of Bao Yen district to become more and more prosperous and beautiful.
The sunny June days gilded the entire district town of the "land of two rivers". Looking at the pictures from above on large billboards in public places, Pho Rang town has a spacious image, harmonious planning, modern infrastructure, it is a poetic, lyrical, peaceful urban area next to the rolling hills and the blue Chay River. Pho Rang town not only has the beauty of a city full of development but it is also a heroic historical land, a land that has always resounded with the heroic victory of Pho Rang, the pride of the ethnic people of Bao Yen district for the past 75 years. The Party Committee of Pho Rang town with strong leadership policies and decisions, and specific development programs has been and is making new achievements at the foot of the Pho Rang relic hill, casting its shadow on the Chay River.
Up to now, few of us, the 7X generation, have forgotten the vivid details and images of the historic battle in the memoir “The Battle of Pho Rang” by writer and martyr Tran Dang. However, the impressions of our school age at that time only stopped at the artistic value of literature, syntax, and writing context, but were vague about the historical values of the victory. Like me, it was not until much later when I became interested in history, visited the relics, and met some witnesses that I understood somewhat the significance of the victory at Pho Rang fort on June 26, 1949. That was a remarkable historical milestone when the victory broke through the defense line, smashing a typical link of the French invaders forming a strip from Ha Giang, through Lao Cai to the Northwestern provinces. The victory also created momentum for our army and the people of all ethnic groups in the province to fight to liberate Lao Cai on November 1, 1950, contributing significantly to the Song Thao Victory, the Northwest Campaign, culminating in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
With comrade Pham Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Pho Rang town, visited the Pho Rang Fort Victory Relic on a rainy day in early summer 2024, the rainwater soaked the hill and covered the relic. Pho Rang Fort was built by the French army on the top of a hill 142 m above sea level, not too high but enough to cover and control the entire Pho Rang basin and a long stretch of the Chay River. A few years ago, Bao Yen district invested in building a road to the relic, from the Chay River, cars can go up to the middle of the hill.
The memorial area and stele at the new relic were invested in a few years ago with a larger and more spacious scale. Thanks to the space and infrastructure, recently more and more party cells and youth unions in the area have come here to hold party and youth union admission ceremonies. This method not onlyeducates the younger generation about tradition but also enhances the beauty and historical significance of the victory three-quarters of a century ago.
After offering incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs in the battle of Pho Rang fort, Secretary of Pho Rang Town Party Committee - Pham Anh Tuan spent a considerable amount of time with reporters to talk about the changes in the revolutionary countryside through responding to and competing to study and follow Uncle Ho's example. The Secretary of the Town Party Committee informed about the results of implementing Conclusion No. 01 dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in the area.

Implementing the goals of the Resolution of the 10th Town Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, in 2023, the socio-economic growth rate in the town will reach 13%, the average income of people will reach 65 million VND/person/year, equal to 82% of the target of the Resolution of the Town Party Congress. The Party Committee of Pho Rang Town has been actively leading the implementation of Resolution No. 10 dated August 26, 2021 of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the Strategy for developing agricultural commodities in Lao Cai province. Up to now, the value of harvested products on 1 hectare of cultivated land has reached 99.5 million VND/year, the poverty rate of Pho Rang Town is only 1.04%, the near-poor households have decreased to 0.7%...
Secretary of Pho Rang Town Party Committee, Pham Anh Tuan said that up to now, the town has completed 5/19 targets and exceeded the targets of the Resolution of the Town Party Congress; 13/19 targets achieved from 50% to less than 100% of the targets of the Resolution of the Town Party Congress.
