The Hanoi Party Committee launched a campaign to support the capital's people affected by storms and floods.

On the afternoon of October 13, the Hanoi City Party Committee launched a campaign to support the people of the capital directly affected by storms No. 10 and No. 11.

Attending the launching ceremony were Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the City People's Committee Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh; Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City People's Committee Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son; Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi People's Committee Party Committee Doan Trung Tuan.

Participating in donating and supporting the people of the Capital directly affected by storms No. 10 and No. 11 were also cadres, party members, civil servants and workers in the City Party Committee and People's Committee.

In recent days, the capital Hanoi in particular, and the Central and Northern provinces in general, have been heavily affected by the double impact of two strong storms (numbers 10 and 11), causing heavy rain, landslides, floods, causing serious damage to people and property in some provinces, causing flooding in many areas, greatly affecting people's lives.

Faced with that situation, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi city sent letters of condolence and mobilized resources from the City Relief Fund to support 14 provinces (Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Lang Son, Hung Yen, Cao Bang, Phu Tho, Bac Ninh , Thai Nguyen) heavily affected by storms and floods with a total amount of 115 billion VND.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son said that, implementing the direction of the Central Government, the initiative of the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, Hanoi has promptly issued documents, and directed all levels, branches and localities to focus on promptly implementing measures to respond to the storm and overcome the consequences after the storm in the city and the two communes of Trung Gia and Da Phuc.

The Standing Committee of the City Party Committee has repeatedly gone directly to the scene, mobilized military and police forces; arranged vehicles and forces, prepared accommodation to evacuate affected people and necessary necessities to serve the people, and prevented human casualties.

Comrade Le Hong Son emphasized that, responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, promoting the tradition of "mutual love", "helping each other" of the nation and the spirit of solidarity, affection and responsibility of the Capital, the Party Committee of the City People's Committee organized a program to launch donations and support people living in some areas of Hanoi directly affected by storms No. 10 and No. 11 to quickly stabilize their lives and restore production.

“Our work today is the sentiment and responsibility of the team of cadres, party members, civil servants and workers in the City Party Committee and People's Committee towards the people and the community. This activity aims to join hands to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, share difficulties and encourage people to soon stabilize their lives,” said comrade Le Hong Son.

Comrade Le Hong Son emphasized that this is an action of profound political and social significance, demonstrating the sentiments and responsibilities of the cadres, party members and civil servants in the City Party Committee. Each heart and contribution is a noble gesture, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, humanity and responsibility of cadres, party members and civil servants of the Capital.

At the launching ceremony, officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in the Party Committee of the City People's Committee participated in supporting. All the money called for and contributed by the Party Committee of the City People's Committee will be transferred to help the people of the Capital directly affected by storms No. 10 and No. 11, overcome the consequences of natural disasters in the fastest time, contribute to the early restoration of production and stabilization of the lives of people in areas affected by storms, floods and natural disasters.

According to statistics, as of 7:00 a.m. on October 13, the damage caused by floods and rains after storm No. 11 (storm Matmo) alone was estimated at over VND8,720 billion, of which Thai Nguyen province suffered the greatest damage of up to VND4,000 billion.
