Quoc Oai Commune solicits opinions on environmental impacts when constructing urban railway No. 5

On the afternoon of October 14, the People's Committee of Quoc Oai commune coordinated with the Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board to organize a consultation on the environmental impact of the Hanoi Urban Railway Construction Investment Project, Line 5 (Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac).

Railway line No. 5 passes through 9 wards and 10 communes, including Quoc Oai commune. The project has a total length of about 39.6km, including 21 stations and 2 depots. The route is mainly underground and on the ground. The section passing through Quoc Oai commune has a total length of 2.84km; 2 stations (S13 station - Sai Son station km20+047 and S14 station - Quoc Oai station km21+683); land use area of ​​about 7.03ha. Urban railway line No. 5 is expected to be prioritized for investment and completed by 2030.

At the consultation session, leaders of the commune's professional departments and people expressed their concern about a number of issues, such as: Measures to treat wastewater, domestic waste, drainage system; noise and dust during construction; impact on production, business and living land; impact on groundwater and ecosystems around the project area.

Receiving comments from the people, the consulting unit synthesizes and supplements them to the environmental impact assessment report, as a basis for submission to competent authorities for appraisal according to regulations.
