Famous singer Thai Chau commented that there is a difference between today's music and the past. Commenting on the generation of young singers he has worked with, he assessed: "Nowadays, the girls are young, beautiful, healthy, tall and pretty. Their singing skills and musical knowledge are very good. They all study vocal music and at least know basic music theory. They sing in a new style, many of them sing very well."
Famous singer Thai Chau admitted that he himself also learned from the younger generations, applying the good things of his juniors into reality when performing. He once covered the pop song "Anh oi o lai" by Chi Pu and received a lot of attention, feedback, and reviews from the audience.
When MC Minh Duc asked if he was afraid that his loyal audience would find it difficult to accept that his idol, who was associated with classic songs, had switched to singing pop music, especially Chi Pu's music, famous singer Thai Chau said: "I sing pop songs again to bring new spiritual food to today's audience. And also to connect the previous generation closer to the next generation, so that we can learn and exchange with each other."
Explaining why young singers have not really shined despite their youthful energy and powerful voices, Thai Chau said that juniors need to sing carefully, clearly, express the author's lyrics, and avoid skipping over words so that the audience does not understand the meaning of the song.
“We have the right to innovate according to the rhythm of modern songs, but we also have to sing clearly so that the audience can understand immediately. Now that you are devoted to your profession, I guarantee that you are worthy of being a great next generation, winning the hearts of the audience,” the famous singer commented.
Comparing today's popular songs with works of the past, he said: "Each era has its own style of composition, each verse, each lyric has value. If it didn't have value, it wouldn't be so famous, known and admired by so many audiences. My generation has great works, so does this era."
Thai Chau shared that although he doesn't sing many young melodies, when reading and listening to songs, he finds the lyrics very beautiful and realistic. However, the way the lyrics are placed in the notes is sometimes not suitable. "You should pay attention when writing lyrics, choose notes that are close to the lyrics so that the audience can understand immediately and feel the emotions in the listener. I think every era has great works. The important thing is to skillfully arrange them so that the singer does not encounter obstacles when performing or recording the song," the famous singer confided.
