Lynk & Co is a subsidiary of Geely, one of China's largest automakers and the owner of Volvo. As a result, many Lynk & Co models inherit technology and components from this Swedish luxury car brand.

With the Lynk & Co 05 CUV model, it is developed on the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform, which is also the platform that the Volvo XC40 is using.

Positioned in the mid-high-end segment with a selling price of up to 1.599 billion VND, where competitors have all established a solid position, Lynk & Co 05's direct competitor will be the Peugeot 408, currently priced at 1.019 - 1.269 billion VND. At a higher level, there will be the BMW X4 (2.899 billion VND) and Mercedes GLC Coupe (3.129 billion VND).

Exterior

Lynk & Co 05 has a length of 4,592 mm, width of 1,879 mm, height of 1,628 mm, wheelbase of 2,734 mm. This is the same size as the popular 5-seat CUV Mazda CX-5 but lower, emphasizing the coupe style.

At first glance, the Lynk & Co 05 stands out with its unique, futuristic design. The front of the car stands out with a large grille, complete with glossy black honeycomb holes, creating a strong and aggressive feeling. The LED daytime running lights are placed high on the hood, while the main headlights are located low below, similar to Volvo models.

Moving to the sides, the Lynk & Co 05 has a bold coupe style with a roofline sloping down from the C-pillar, creating a sporty and dynamic feel. The rearview mirrors are placed low on the door to increase visibility for the driver, while reducing blind spots when the driver enters tight turns in the city. With a ground clearance of up to 213 mm, the car can move flexibly on many different types of terrain, from urban streets to rough roads.

The Lynk & Co logo is placed in the middle, especially the letter "O" which is not only aesthetic but also a touch button to open the trunk, a small but sophisticated detail. The integrated spoiler not only helps increase aerodynamics but also contributes to making the rear of the car more sporty. The rear bumper is designed with sharp angles, accompanied by a dual exhaust system to create a powerful feeling.

Interior

Entering the interior, Lynk & Co 05 offers a modern space with a series of high-end equipment. The dashboard is covered with leather and aluminum, creating a high-end feeling from the first touch. The car is equipped with a 12.8-inch central entertainment screen that controls the automatic 2-zone air conditioning system, driving modes, etc.

Combined with the central screen is a 12.3-inch technical display cluster, providing a sharp and intuitive display interface. The entertainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, accompanied by a 10-speaker Harman Infinity sound system, providing a vivid music experience.

The interior highlights of Lynk & Co 05 are the seat design that hugs the back, the neatly designed electric gear lever with a series of function buttons, including: Select driving mode (5 modes), electronic handbrake system & Auto Hold, hazard lights... The steering wheel is covered with high-quality leather and integrated with touch buttons and scroll keys, helping the driver easily control functions such as cruise control (Adaptive Cruise Control), adjust the volume, make hands-free calls or switch display modes on the screen.

A familiar design feature of this brand is the hood, which is slightly concave and slopes forward, extending to the edge of the hood. Thanks to that, the driver can easily observe and adjust the distance more accurately when moving. The second row of seats is spacious and comfortable, although the coupe design makes the ceiling a bit low, there is still enough space for tall people.

Experience and review

Lynk & Co 05 brings consistency between design style and operating experience. When moving in the city, the car has a size in segment C but is overall compact and easy to handle. The steering wheel is light and flexible but still has a certain stability, very high precision.

The car's suspension system is MacPherson front and independent multi-link rear, which helps to eliminate vibrations from the road surface to the passenger compartment well. However, due to the sporty orientation, this suspension system is not too soft but feels solid, slightly stiff.

In urban areas, when moving at medium and low speeds below 50 km/h, the accelerator pedal responds quickly and smoothly, without jerking or sudden acceleration, making passengers feel comfortable. The 8-speed gearbox shifts smoothly, almost unnoticeable when the vehicle is operating slowly.

When moving at high speed, Lynk & Co 05 still maintains stability and firmness thanks to the sturdy chassis system. The car has impressive road grip, significantly limiting the state of swaying or shaking even when cornering at high speed. The steering system responds precisely, providing a feeling of confidence when holding the steering wheel.

The turbocharged engine combined with a smooth gearbox helps the car accelerate quickly with almost no noticeable delay, especially when switching to Sport mode. In Comfort or Eco mode, the accelerator sensitivity is reduced, but the car is still capable of accelerating very quickly, if the driver presses the pedal deeply at speeds above 100km/h.

The car's soundproofing is also quite good. The two front windows are double-glazed, which significantly reduces noise from the outside environment. The rear seats only use single-glazed glass, so the soundproofing effect is not as good as the front seats, but it is still good. The echo from the road surface mainly comes from the 20-inch thin-wall tires, which are large in size compared to the body of the car, which is unavoidable.

In addition, Lynk & Co 05 is also equipped with a series of advanced driving support features, helping to increase safety and convenience when operating. The 360-degree camera system combined with front/rear sensors provides panoramic visibility, helping the driver to easily move in narrow spaces or when parking.

Lane departure warning and steering assist functions help reduce the risk of unintentional lane departure, especially when the driver does not turn on the turn signal or loses concentration. Adaptive Cruise Control technology is also refined to respond quickly and reliably, helping the car maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front when traveling on the highway, bringing more leisurely and safer driving experience.

Positioned by the Chinese car company as a high-end car in its home market, Lynk & Co 05 is unlikely to have a price range in the popular car range, which makes it difficult to find customers when the prejudice against Chinese cars is still negative in the Vietnamese market.
