He spoke on the topic of "Story development and script analysis". Director Charlie Nguyen shared: “When I accepted Mai Thanh Ha’s invitation, I immediately thought of this topic because this is also an issue that I am interested in and facing many challenges. I put myself in the shoes of young people, maybe they also face similar problems and also want to listen to what I share. When I face a challenge, I force myself to spend time investing and digging deeper into the problem.”

During the 2-day workshop, director Charlie Nguyen not only guides on how to write a script, but also addresses the root of the problem, from the beginning to how to tell a story.

Also in this workshop, Charlie Nguyen said frankly: “I have seen too many interesting and creative stories from scripts when put into production, but in the end when the film is completed, it becomes a disaster at the box office. There are films that if not released, it would be less damaging because of the additional marketing costs.”

According to the director, script analysis is the key to discovering the strengths/weaknesses and loopholes in the story, which is a vital factor in the process of editing and perfecting the script.

Not only does director Charlie Nguyen provide a new perspective on the script, he also answers questions sent to the program by students. Director Charlie Nguyen believes that script analysis is not just criticism but a profound understanding. A well-analyzed script will have an engaging, coherent plot, a profound theme, and characters with psychological depth, bringing many levels of emotion. Without this sharp perspective, no matter how good the story idea is, the audience will not be interested.

Although he is not good at teaching, Charlie Nguyen said he is very happy to be able to share valuable things with young people. Some of them said that for many years, they have been struggling, unable to find a direction or solution, but through this talk, they "broke out" many things.
