These days, on Lac Long Quan Street (Tay Ho, Hanoi), spring colors have begun to appear with peach branches and kumquat pots being sold by vendors, signaling that Tet is very close. Every year, this place sells ornamental plants and flowers to serve people welcoming the new year from the beginning of December.

In the area where traders sell kumquat bonsai, many people are interested in the impressive kumquat bonsai products combined with driftwood. “Today I had to go here, I saw Tet bonsai trees for sale all over the street so I came in to see if there were any beautiful trees to buy for Tet. At first I was very surprised because I thought that after storm No. 3 passed, there wouldn’t be many beautiful trees left, but when I got closer, I started to want to bring the tree home,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet (Soc Son, Hanoi).

Kumquat trees combined with driftwood are unique products that have been chosen by the "rich" to buy for Tet in recent years.

Unique kumquat pots grafted from driftwood costing up to hundreds of millions of dong are displayed by gardeners to serve the Tet holiday needs of the capital's residents.

Anh Thu (a trader) said: "The price of kumquat trees this year near Tet has increased compared to last year, small pots increased by about 1 - 2 million, large pots from 5 - 7 million. Bonsai kumquat products combined with driftwood cost from 60 - 100 million VND, this year was affected by storm No. 3 so beautiful products are rare and difficult to buy".

Many kumquat pots are elaborately decorated, showing the careful care of the kumquat growers.

Besides kumquat, the pink color of peach blossom also adds to the brilliant Tet atmosphere.

Since it is still nearly a month until Tet, there are not many customers coming here. However, the peach blossoms on the street this early make everyone passing by have to look. The peach blossoms in full bloom make many people want to take them home.

This year the weather is not favorable, storm number 3 has destroyed many people's ornamental plants, so the number of ornamental plants is less than every year. The selling price of peach, kumquat, and ornamental plants this year is higher than every year, on average a tree costs from several hundred thousand to several million VND more.

Despite the impact of storm No. 3, peach, kumquat and ornamental plants are still blooming all over Hanoi's streets.

There are quite a lot of super-fruit ornamental grapefruits, mainly concentrated in the area near the two dragons of West Lake. According to traders, ornamental plants and spring flowers are very scarce this year, and are being sold later than usual due to the impact of storm No. 3.

Each tree can have about 50 grapefruits. The price can be up to 100 million VND depending on the type of tree, age and shape of the tree.
